Editorial policy
What we cover
RootWire covers five areas: AI, cybersecurity, developer tools and open source, cloud and systems administration, and consumer tech gadgets. We deliberately stay out of general politics, health policy, and entertainment, even when a story is trending elsewhere - if it isn't genuinely about one of those five topics, we don't run it.
How stories are put together
We monitor a wide set of public sources - established technology and security publications, vulnerability databases, developer platforms, and community discussion - and synthesize each story into a single, original write-up rather than reproducing any one source verbatim. Every article includes a short "why it matters" section with context and analysis you won't find in the original reporting alone.
Sourcing and attribution
Every article links to every source it drew on, listed at the bottom of the piece. If a story comes primarily from one outlet's original reporting, that outlet is credited by name in the text as well.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. To report an error, email hello@gk-root.com with a link to the article and what needs correcting. Significant factual corrections are noted on the article itself.
Advertising and affiliate independence
Editorial coverage decisions are made independently of advertising and affiliate relationships. Any sponsored placement or affiliate link is clearly labeled as such at the point it appears - we don't run undisclosed paid content.
